A group of vegan protesters who describe themselves as ‘animal liberationists’ have invaded a cattle farm.

Approximately 100 protesters entered the farm in Queensland over the weekend (March 24) to ‘fight for animal liberation’, filming themselves and posting the footage on social media afterwards.

The protesters wore white overalls covered in black shirts that read, ‘Meat the Victims’, and cut across Queensland Feedlot and Dairy as a farmer chased after them.

MEAT THE VICTIMS #4 – 150 ANIMAL LIBERATIONISTS PROTEST AT QUEENSLAND FEEDLOT & DAIRY, 1402 BOSTOCK ROAD, MILLMERRAN QLD – At 12:00 pm today, 100 Animal Liberationists peacefully walked into a Feedlot & Dairy in Millmerran, Queensland. – @leahdoellinger, a member of the inside team said, “The truth continues to be censored from the public while the animal harming industry perpetuates the ‘humane myth’. Labels such as ‘cage free’, ‘free range’, ‘grass fed’, ‘organic’ and ‘local’ are used to deceive and mislead the public into believing animals are ‘humanely raised” – “In today’s society, there are animals who are not afforded the same respect and dignity that we give to others, and that we demand for ourselves as humans. This is a form of discrimination, called ‘speciesism’ and we are here today to challenge the current speciesist mindset within society” – "This kind of resistance aims to oppose oppressive systems that have seen other animals reduced to 'things'; products, food, items to be bought and sold” – “By taking a strong moral stand, we hope to bring attention to this issue, in turn allowing people to ‘meat the victims’ of their choice, and see that while different to us, other animals are equal in their ability to feel like us” – “The animals do not need better welfare standards or conditions, they need to be liberated, they need people to live vegan” – A further 50 activists are holding a protest outside of the facility. – Ms Doellinger said “The message we are sharing is simple; animals are here with us, not for us. Animals lives are their right and what is happening to them is unjust, needless violence. There is no humane way to exploit and kill someone”

Shocking footage of the day’s events were posted online by vegan animal activist, Leah Doellinger, who created the Meat the Victims movement.

In the video, the farmer can be heard shouting at the protesters to ‘get off my fucking country’, before screaming, ‘don’t go fucking through’.

Leah then replies, saying:

You’re hurting animals here, we’re here to show the truth of what you’re hiding. The only reason you’re upset is because you’ve got something to hide.

The protesters then walk across the farm before they find three dead cows who have been shot; the camera pans to the animals before the farmer says they were shot ‘humanely’.

MEAT THE VICTIMS #4 I created Meat the Victims actions because ever since I was a kid I loved animals. We all love animals as kids, but then we grow up and slowly that is pushed out of us. It becomes ok to keep animals hidden away, caged being fattened up so we can eat their bodies. We also take their babies & milk. We leave a Mother without a child. There are sheds full of Mothers who have lost their children & they are slaves because of their ability to carry a child & our ability to take that from them for a profit. At their loss & at their mourning Man attempts to concur, by taking from them & making money from enslaving woman & killing babies . We love them as kids because we can see & feel they are individuals & they make us happy to be around & pat them. We laugh, giggle & follow them around excited. And that’s all taken from us… so that some arsehole can live in a nice house while he’s got sheds of hostages next door . They’re removed from our lives, except for cats & dogs . But our parents take us to the petting zoos every time we walk past one because they know that makes us happy being around animals. But then they betray us & feed them to us later in the day but call them “food” instead of friends. We force violence into children’s lives . We each wake up at all different times. Sadly some never do, because to wake up we need to remember; We need to feel something that triggers & invites back what we felt when we were kids . And that’s why we go into these places, to give others the opportunity to find themselves again & leave the animals alone (Unless it’s to love & care for them) . Meat the Victims is reminding us that the victims are only there because of our choices, so we need to take responsibility for that truth & of who we are & what we are standing for . It’s as simple as right vs wrong. There’s no in between when it comes to others suffering at our mercy . And that is why the message is so simple.. Animals are here with us, not for us . 📷 @animalliberationphotography thank you for being the amazing MTV photographer and videographer #vegan #love #animallovers #plantbased #food #healthy #vegetarian #happy #meatthevictims

A protester then hits back with:

How do you humanely shoot a cow?

Leah described on her Instagram page how initially, the group were blocked by three farmers who threatened and followed them. After climbing through barb wire fencing, the protesters found the three dead cows.

Lot feeder David McNamee told Daily Mail Australia the protesters’ actions were distressing for his family and had put his livestock at risk.

The footage was also shared by the Animal Activist Collective on Instagram, who included a comment from Leah which said the group took a ‘strong moral stand’ to show people how animals are equal.

Leah explained:

In today’s society, there are animals who are not afforded the same respect and dignity that we give to others, and that we demand for ourselves as humans. This is a form of discrimination, called ‘speciesism’ and we are here today to challenge the current speciesist mindset within society.

This kind of resistance aims to oppose oppressive systems that have seen other animals reduced to ‘things’; products, food, items to be bought and sold.

By taking a strong moral stand, we hope to bring attention to this issue, in turn allowing people to ‘meat the victims’ of their choice, and see that while different to us, other animals are equal in their ability to feel like us.

The animals do not need better welfare standards or conditions, they need to be liberated, they need people to live vegan.
