People at a shopping centre in Texas were pretty shocked when a massive alligator wandered in, but perhaps not as shocked as when a woman wrestled this beast to the ground right in front of them.

The 360kg (800lbs), 12-foot reptile has been dubbed ‘Godzilla’, and it’s not hard to see why!

Crazy video footage shows how Christy Kroboth, a professional alligator hunter, grappled with and subdued the 50-year-old reptile outside the First Colony Commons Shopping Center in Sugar Land, Texas.

This crazy gator didn’t go down without a fight, however, and the writhing badass managed to initially throw Christy off its back while officers struggled to tie its jaws together.

Once the creature was under control, a forklift truck from the nearby Home Depot came to pick ol’ Godzilla up and transport him to Janik Alligators, an alligator sanctuary.

He’ll probably just live out the rest of his life and have girlfriends and make babies and be fed every day. He’ll be a happy gator.

See you later, alligator (sorry).
