dandonmiller/InstagramIn the most American turn of events imaginable, a kind-hearted biker has rescued a majestic bald eagle caught up in traffic during the Memorial Day weekend.
Dandon Miller, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania noticed the injured American bald eagle on the Route 30 bypass in Downingtown, Chester County and went full superhero.
Miller had been riding his motorbike prior to his heroic rescue, and noticed something was up when the traffic in front of him came to a halt.
Pulling over, he realised the commotion had been caused by a beautiful eagle who had suffered injuries and had become stranded on the busy road.
Miller – who is said to be an animal lover – told The Dodo:
I looked down to see why everyone was stopping and there was a bald eagle in the middle of the road,
Another person was there and they kind of nudged her a little bit to see if she would walk off the road or fly away. She spread her wings open and was not going to go anywhere.
Showing impressive bravery, Miller chucked his flannel shirt over the eagle’s wings and talons and held her in his arms.
Miller reportedly held onto the 15-pound eagle – who is believed to be a female of around five years of age – for approximately 45 minutes. Thankfully, she remained calm while Miller awaited the arrival of the Pennsylvania State Troopers and the Tri-State Bird Rescue.

I wasn’t really thinking about it when I was holding her,
I was just trying to keep her calm and make sure she knows she’s secure, and I wasn’t going to drop her or anything.
It was just amazing to hold that bird and for her to be calm like that,
Just amazing.
dandonmiller/InstagramThe bird has since been found to have injuries to her talons and one wing, as well as a mild injury to her eye. Fortunately, she has not suffered any broken bones and is said to be eating by herself.
Tri-State Bird Rescue and Research, Inc made the following statement to ABC6 :
She is being treated with antibiotics and pain medications. She is also receiving subcutaneous fluids. She is eating on her own. We are cautiously optimistic about her prognosis for release, but it will depend on how the wing injury heals.
Dandon told UNILAD:
I was just think this is crazy there is a bald eagle in my arms. she was vary calm. I have not seen her yet. They are working on getting her to recovery.
