Some faith in humanity has been restored after a bus driver allowed a stray dog to stay onboard his bus and warm up.
It’s always heartbreaking to see stray dogs on their own and shivering on the streets – but one bus driver gave us a little ray of hope when he allowed a homeless dog to rest on his bus.
The driver, named Christhian, shared a video of his four-legged passenger to Facebook after it hopped onto the public transport.
Watch the heartwarming video below:
Christhian explained in the video that the homeless canine boarded the bus behind another passenger. The driver assumed the dog belonged to the person, but only realised the pooch was actually a stray when he later inspected the bus.
Christhian found the dog sitting up in his chair almost like a human, just enjoying the ride. He said he allowed the four-legged passenger to stay aboard and sleep because he was an animal lover.
He says ‘it is resting. Hi’, before giving the dog a well-deserved stroke on the nose.
The driver continued:
I want to share this with you guys because I love animals. I am not going to take it off the bus.
Now it is sleeping.
I hope you like this video and share it with your friends and dog lovers.
Christhian explained his unusual story, saying:
I do not want to take him off the bus because he is so cold.
I am at work and just stopped to pick up a gentleman when a small dog climbed up behind him.
I thought it was his, but when I realised it was a stray I did not want to throw it off because I like animals.
He went on:
I do not care if people think the seats will get dirty, there are passengers who regularly dirty the seats and throw litter on the floor. However, the dog just sits there and enjoys the ride.
I am not going to take the dog off at the terminal either because we are so far from where it got on. It will get lost, so I am going to leave the dog here to sleep.
The driver’s video spread quickly, with over 85,000 people sharing it on Facebook. People praised the lovely man for his reaction to the situation.
After realising has kind actions had received an enormous response, Christhian posted his appreciation on social media.
He wrote:
I am the driver who made the video and a friend told me that it was shared here too. I want to thank you all for your nice comments.
I did it to make people aware that our pets are also a big part of our lives. They are our family and not just accessories. I do not know what else to say except thank you.
The world needs more people like Christhian.
