Once considered one of the most harmless animals in the sea, stingrays have gained a fearsome reputation ever since one of the little bastards killed Steve Irwin in 2006.
And this brutal new video shows just how nasty it can be to get stung by one of these bad boys of the ocean.
The grim footage shows how this poor bloke’s foot was left a bloody mess with the massive barb protruding from his skin. Be warned, don’t watch this if you’re eating your dinner because it’s pretty damn gruesome!
The large sting has to be cut down in order for the doctor to remove it from the guy’s foot and, when this monstrosity is finally pulled out, blood starts gushing from the sizeable hole it’s left behind.
Basically, the whole thing looks and sounds painful as hell and we never want to get on the wrong side of one of these creatures after watching this.
Sure, stingrays aren’t aggressive by nature but, boy, make sure you never bump into one by mistake while you’re out having a casual swim!
