A determined mouse wasn’t going to let some glass stand in the way of its dinner, and found a way into a display cabinet so it could feast on the food that lay within.

The ravenous rodent was spotted in an Asian food market inn Bellaire, Houston, Texas, where the person behind the camera was grocery shopping with their family.

The mouse had discovered the perfect little spot which allowed it to reach the food while tucked within the corner of the cabinet.

Check it out here:

The mouse nibbled and climbed on the food which was no doubt being sold to unsuspecting customers.

The person who filmed the video explained the owner of the food was made aware, but didn’t seem to care the mouse in question was getting a free meal.

Sharing the video online, the person filming the footage wrote:

We noticed a mouse by the meat section inside the display glass. We notified the butcher. He was pretty nonchalant about it and he didn’t seem to be too concerned about it.

The cameraman explained how, after seeing the mouse, they left the market and went somewhere else to buy their food. A good decision.

The butcher should probably have been more concerned than he was – that little mouse stole some of his food and lost him business!

Maybe there’s more to the story? Perhaps the butcher and the mouse have some sort of Ratatouille kind of situation going on, and the mouse was just testing his creations before going back to hide in the butcher’s hair?

Or, more likely, the butcher just didn’t have any regard for food safety regulations? Who knows.

I think they could have done with hiring a new employee to take care of their pest problems – perhaps someone agile, with excellent reflexes.

Like Felix, the official pest control manager at Huddersfield train station in West Yorkshire:

What do you mean I missed a mouse!?

While she might look like your average house cat, Felix actually has an official working title, high visibility jacket, and name badge to identify her as Huddersfield’s mouse catching employee.

The hard working feline was brought to the train station when she was just nine-weeks-old, and has since become an expert in patrolling the platforms for any mouse-sized intruders.

Felix has her very own entrance to the station, with a cat flap built into one of the barriers which allows her to work when she pleases.

Despite her authority, Felix has remained as level headed as cats can be, with one of her co-workers telling Buzzfeed:

Well, the fame hasn’t quite gone to her head. As with most cats, they already think the world revolves around them.

She’s getting more treats and more attention, so all in all she’s very happy.

Felix has her own personal Facebook page, which, at the time of writing, has over 120,000 likes. She’s very good at making friends with people who visit the station.

I’ve no doubt she’d take care of the food-stealing mouse in no time!
