Does this startling drone footage prove that large cat-like beasts are stalking the British countryside?
Aerial video producers from Rough Cuts were flying their drone over a quarry in Pentre Halkyn, Flintshire, to film footage of the beautiful Welsh mountains, when they spotted the large cat creature wandering the rocky slopes, the Mirror reports.
After uploading the footage to their YouTube channel, people began to question whether it could be a big cat – many of which have been supposedly sighted across the North of Wales. However, critics say the creature could just be a dog.
On Rough Cuts’ YouTube channel they wrote:
I was editing this on a bigger screen than it was filmed on, and noticed during playback a large animal. There was one dog owner earlier, but her dog was white. This looks more cat like… [we] will return and investigate later on this month and see if I can see it again.
The sighting comes after a local told North Wales Police that they saw a huge beast roaming through the fields of Llanberis.
The person, who’s not been named, claimed a big cat, like a tiger, lion or puma, was roaming near the Snowdonia village.
Back in November 2014, Tory AM Darren Millar called on the Welsh Government to start investigating big cat sightings, claiming there had been ‘a flurry of sightings’ of big cats since the Dangerous Wild Animals Act of 1976 made it illegal to keep untamed big cats as pets.
If the sightings are true then maybe the Welsh government could take advantage of the beasts, Welsh safari anyone?
