Jenelle Evans has been fired from Teen Mom 2 after her husband killed the family dog.
Last week, the 27-year-old announced the death of her dog, Nugget, on Instagram, writing that she was ‘speechless’ and ‘so shocked’ following his death.
Her husband, David Eason, allegedly slammed the poor pup against their home’s back deck before taking him into the woods and shooting him after he ‘bit’ their 2-year-old daughter Ensley in the face. Evans publicly confirmed Eason killed her dog, TMZ report.
The reality TV star shared a picture of Nugget sat on her lap, along with the caption:
Nugget… I’m crying everyday. I love you so much and I’m so sorry. I’m speechless. You were my side kick and knew the moment I felt bad and would cuddle with me.
You still had a lot to learn and a lot to grow from your lessons. Everyday I wake up you’re not here, when I come home you’re not here, when I go to bed… you’re not here. You’re gone forever and there’s no coming back.
According to People, on Tuesday Eason posted a since-deleted video of Nugget becoming aggressive toward Ensley as she tried to hug the dog.
He appeared to defend his actions in the caption, writing:
I dont [sic]give a damn what animal bites my baby on the face… whether it be your dog or mine, a dog is a dog and I dont put up with that s*** at all.
I’m all about protecting my family, it is my lifes mission. Some people are worth killing or dying for and my family means that much to me.
You can hate me all you want but this isnt the first time the dog bit Ensley aggressively. The only person that can judge wether or not a animal is a danger to MY CHILD is ME.[sic]
Eason used to star in Teen Mom 2 alongside Evans, but MTV cut ties with him in February 2018 as a result of homophobic comments.
Following last week’s incident, MTV have now also fired Evans from the show, TMZ report. According to sources, MTV executives told Jenelle’s manager the killing of Nugget was the last straw; that they feared Eason was out of control, and they wanted no part in what they see as a looming disaster.
A spokesperson said:
We have stopped with Jenelle Eason as of April 6, 2019 and have no plans to cover her story in the upcoming season.
MTV ended its relationship with David Eason over a year ago in February 2018 and has no filmed any new episodes of “Teen Mom 2” with him since.
Speaking to E! News after the incident, Evans said she was ‘very much considering divorcing’ her husband, who she’s been married to for nearly two years.
She added:
I have not gone back to my home yet because he is refusing to leave. I won’t see him and don’t want to talk to him.
Thankfully the kids did not see him shoot the dog. They are still with me. I am very much considering pressing charges against him for this.
A source close to Evans told E! the reality TV star ‘was crying when she found out about being fired’.
The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office and Animal Control have reportedly initiated a joint investigation into allegations of animal cruelty against Eason.
