I’ve always thought anyone who has the ability to be cruel to an animal is a d**k.

Well this story has just put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day!

A f***ing moron – or more than one of them, thought it would be a good idea to kill a kangaroo.

The poor marsupial was found shot dead in an ‘appalling and immoral’ act of animal cruelty

To make matters worse, the animal had been shot not once, but numerous times and tied up to a chair.

It was then left on the side of the road in Mernda, Melbourne and the mindless thugs responsible, had dressed the animal in a leopard print jacket and placed a bottle of Ouzo in its mouth.

The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning released the photo of the dead animal on Tuesday calling for information.

DELWP Senior Investigator Mike Sverns said:

This is appalling and immoral behaviour.

The kangaroo had been shot at least three times prior to it being arranged in the chair.

He continued:

It would have taken some time to stage the kangaroo in that position on the side of the road.

We are certain that someone would have seen something, given the public area and traffic flow of this main road.

According to DELWP penalties for killing wildlife range from $7,500 to $36,500 or up to 24 months imprisonment.

Generally if you wouldn’t like someone to do it to you, it is probably a bad idea to inflict that same thing on someone else, be they human or animal.

Here’s hoping the responsible parties are brought to justice.
