While I do love going on holiday, I miss my cat, a lot, when I’m away.

So whoever’s babysitting him will receive regular messages from me asking to be updated with photos and videos of him.

Even though I know he’s okay, and will be as cute as he always is, I just miss him terribly!

I therefore understand why Garrett Johnson decided to send his parents adorable video updates of what he and the family pup – Oscar – were up to while they enjoyed a week-long cruise.

Before leaving for their trip, Garrett’s mum told him to take care of Oscar – turns out she really had nothing to worry about.

Garrett decided to film him and Oscar hanging out to reassure his parents, and it’s clear the pair have been having a lot of fun.

The short video sees Garrett saying goodbye to his parents before asking Oscar, ‘so what do you want to do?’

The pair are then seen dancing around the house, cuddling, having dinner, watching films and playing, basically having a jolly good time.

Knowing the internet also needed to see this video, Garrett shared it on Twitter, writing:

My parents went on a cruise and left me home alone. My mom kept telling me to take good care of our dog Oscar. So I sent her this.

Unsurprisingly, since Garrett posted the tweet on February 26, it’s received over 4,000 likes at time of writing (March 1).

People online have been falling in love with Oscar.

One person wrote:

This is why I have Twitter.

While another user tweeted:

Yes I just watched this 3 times. Best 6 minutes, cute dog 10/10.

One big fan of the pup said:

I think I love Oscar.

In an interview with The Dodo, Garrett admitted he couldn’t believe how popular it’s been:

Oscar is the funniest dog I know. My mum thought it was super funny and said she cried laughing.

It’s blown me away. I only had 70 followers, so I was just posting it for my friends. This is unreal.

We’re chilling and just hanging out ’til [my parents] come back. Life is good.

Oscar seems such a sweetheart so I imagine yes, life is good for Garrett.
