It seems like maternity photos are fast becoming a popular way for expectant mums to celebrate their pregnancies.
Earlier this week a photo of two Australian mums-to-be went viral – but people aren’t the only ones eager to show off their baby bumps.
According to The Dodo, Brazilian photographer Ana Paula Grillo had the pleasure of working with another kind of expectant parent — her friend’s dog, Lilica.
The photographer said Lilica struck up a romance with a neighbour’s dog, and as a result, a litter of puppies was on the way.
Lilica, who Grillo describes as ‘very well loved and cared for’ seems to be more than happy to pose for the shoot.
We have to assume that Lilica hasn’t dabbled much with modelling in her life, but Grillo says she was an ideal subject to work with:
She was amazing. She smiled in a way that was just so nice.
Since these photos were taken, she went on to give birth to five healthy puppies — each of whom have been adopted by her owner’s adult children and their families.
