A Christian Church prophet who was ‘filled with the Holy Spirit’ bit off more than he could chew when he challenged a lion to a fight.
Prophet Alec Ndiwane, who is based in the Pretoria Soshanguve, South Africa, was touring the Kruger National Park with fellow church members when they spotted some lions.
It is reported by GhanaWeb that the prophet went into a trance and began speaking in tongues. Ndiwane then opened the car door and charged towards the pride of lions who were eating an Impala.
Upon seeing the crazed man running towards them, the lions began to aggressively defend their food and charged right back at the prophet.
It was at this point that, thankfully, Alec regained his senses, quickly coming to the conclusion that fighting a pride of lions was not going to end well and he tried to get back in the car.
Unfortunately one lion was too quick for him and managed to inflict some serious damage to his arse, before a game ranger fired some shots with his gun to scare the lion away.
So severe was the mauling that Alec had to be rushed to hospital for emergency surgery. It’s reported that the man feared he would lose his backside but the doctor’s assured him he would still have his bum, and he’s now been discharged.
Alec confessed, ‘I do not know what came over me’ adding, ‘I thought the Lord wanted to use me to show his power over animals. Is it not we were given dominion over all creatures of the earth’.
Maybe he’ll think harder next time about trying to be a modern day Samson…
