A Florida paddleboarder laughed off his close encounter with a shark, after it clipped him and knocked him into the sea.

Maximo Trinidad – from Jupiter – was out on his paddleboard on Thursday and had attached a GoPro camera to the tip of the board.

But suddenly, while he was riding a wave, Trinidad spots that his board is about to hit a shark and you can just see the look of terror he has in his eyes.

The board collides with the spinner shark, sending Trinidad tumbling into the water right by it.

Trinidad – who was not injured – said he did not see the shark again once he was in the water. He said he got straight back on his paddle board and kept going.

Speaking to ABC News, Trinidad said: “It was awesome. I was not even scared.”

Fuck off you weren’t scared mate, surely you would have been bricking it!? But apparently not. It really seems he wasn’t bothered about the whole shark possibly eating him thing whatsoever when he spoke to WPTV.

He said:

As soon as I saw that big beautiful animal jumping next to me, everything went into slow motion.  I didn’t want to be on top of it and think I was a fish.  Everything was so surreal. It was so cool.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, spinner sharks do not ‘see humans as a food source’.

The commission said:

Experts believe that most shark attacks are cases of mistaken identity, which explains why nearly all shark attacks that occur in Florida waters are of a bite-and-release nature.

Apparently this isn’t the first close shave Maximo has had either, he explains:

On one occasion, (a shark) jumped on my left side again, 2 feet next to me, almost at eye level, and that was impressive.  There was a group of surfers next to me looking at it with big eyes.

After his lunch break, he even quickly rushed back to work to look at the video.  He added: “I had to show it to my co-workers.  I knew I had a great shot.

He must balls of fucking steel, because I don’t think I’d go near an ocean ever again after something like that. Ever.
