CCTV footage captured in Stoke-on-Trent was shared by the RSPCA in December, which showed a distressed Staffordshire bull terrier jumping up at a car’s doors as its owner began to drive off, seemingly abandoning the dog on the street.
The owner could be seen throwing the dog’s bed on to the pavement and taking the Staffie off its lead before running back to the car while the dog seemed to be distracted.

The dog was rescued by the RSCPA, who set about trying to find the Staffie a new home. They named the dog Snoop, and even managed to get some help from his namesake in getting the word out.
As reported by the Daily Star at the time, Snoop Dogg said:
It is heartbreaking. There is always room for another dog in Casa de Snoop. If he really needed a home then he has one with us.
But I don’t think there is going to be any shortage of loving homes after all the exposure he has got.
Snoop (the rapper) wasn’t wrong, of course, and now the RSPCA has reported that Snoop (the Staffie) has found his forever home.
Snoop was adopted by Laurence Squire, who met the dog at the RSPCA’s Gonsal Farm Animal Centre, in Shropshire.
Laurence told ITV News:
I contacted the RSPCA and said that I was looking for a male Staffie, around one to two years old, and one evening I was watching the news when Snoop’s story came on.
What happened to him was shocking, and it was clear from the footage – in the way that he tried to get back into the car – that he was a loyal dog. I thought that he seemed like the perfect dog for me and that I could offer him the home he deserved.
Snoop is still said to be suffering from some separation anxiety after his ordeal, though I’m sure it won’t be long before he’s all settled in his new home.

Laurence works from home, which means Snoop the Staffie will always have someone to keep him company in his new home now he’s left the dog pound right behind him.
Laurence added:
He is a fantastic dog and he settled in straightaway. As soon as he came into the house for the first time, he jumped on the sofa and it was as though he decided that was the space for him! He loves to lie on the back of the sofa and if I put the fire on he will curl up in front of it.
He loves being warm and if he can find his way into a bedroom, you’ll find him under the duvet with his head on the pillow.
RSPCA spokeswoman Rachel Butler said she ‘could tell straight away that [Snoop] was in the right place’.
It’s great news that Snoop has found a new home. The RSPCA’s investigation into his abandonment is still ongoing, however, and anyone with information about it can call their appeals line on 0300 123 8018.
