Some parents let their kids play with lego, others give them an iPad, some parents just shove a joypad in front of them and let them play games like Fortnite and Call of Duty.
However, one family in Indonesia have taken the unorthodox approach of entertaining their child by letting them play with a snake.
Not just any snake, they let their son play with a python. Not exactly the type of pet you’d want your little one hanging around with, right?
Watch the video below:
As a single man with no kids (that I know of), it would be wrong for me to question the parenting techniques of another couple. After all, who am I to criticise? Parenting is one of the most difficult tasks life has to offer.
It involves an array of things, from feeding them correctly and providing a safe and nurturing environment to grow up in, to making sure you impart the right manners and morals so they don’t make the same mistakes you once did when you were young.
Parenting is a marathon, not a sprint, from the moment your offspring breaches birth to the day they finally leave the confines of your nest, and then beyond, a mother and father’s job is never done.
That being said, from the outside looking in, there are moments where I say to myself ‘I don’t think your child should be doing that’.
Case-in-point, this little tearaway who’s having the time of his life with a humongous python.
The footage was filmed in the East Java Province, Indonesia. The video begins with the youngster resting upon the python, who’s in a curled up position. The kid is also clearly having the time of his life as he lets out playful laughs, blissfully unaware of the dangers pythons pose.
Pythons are known for having enough strength to wrap themselves around a fully grown man so they can choke the life out of them. Sanjoy Dutta, from the Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal, India, had to find out the hard way after posing with one.
At one point in the video, the young boy picks the snake from its neck, before placing his head within biting distance of his own face. Luckily the python did not appear to be in a killing mood that day.
One person who sadly wasn’t as fortunate was a mother in Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Locals found Wa Tiba, aged 54, in the body of a 27-foot python, over a week after her two children raised the alarm their mother had gone missing back in June.
You can watch the shocking scene unfold in the video below:
The horrifying footage shows the moment their mother was cut from a 27ft python which had attacked Tiba while she was gardening locally, on the island of Sulawesi, Indonesia.
The mother of two was last seen leaving the house on the evening of June 6, before she disappeared. Her children became concerned when there was no sign of her the next morning at their home.
They began looking for her in the early hours of the morning and later found her sandals, machete and torch around 30 metres away, among a patch of bushes which appeared ruffled.
Wa Tiba’s sons then made a chilling discovery: a huge python lounged on the ground barely able to move due to an enormous bulge in its belly after it had swallowed the woman head first.
