Trailer For Bear Grylls’ Interactive Netflix Show Just Dropped

The first full-length trailer for Bear Grylls’ new interactive Netflix show just dropped and it looks awesome!

Following on from the success of Bandersnatch last year, Netflix is continuing to experiment with interactive programmes releasing You vs. Wild in April.

The exciting series will consist of eight episodes and give viewers the chance to decide what survival expert Grylls eats, encounters and experiences as he travels the world.

Describing the show as ‘a live action, interactive family-friendly adventure series’, the synopsis is as follows:

In You vs. Wild, viewers join survival expert Bear Grylls on exciting adventures all over the world.

Dense jungles, towering mountains, brutal deserts, and mysterious forests await, with tough decisions around every corner.

In this groundbreaking interactive adventure series, you make all the decisions and whether or not Bear succeeds or fails is totally up to you.

Putting your survival expertise to the test, you will decide whether Grylls skis or paraglides down a mountain, and choose whether he runs away from a wolf or fights.

To be honest that one is an easy decision to make; Grylls versus a wolf, now that is something we all want to see.

Like us, Grylls is excited for the show to launch in April, tweeting a clip earlier today (March 26).

He said:

Check this out! So proud to deliver a world first. You vs. Wild. The first fully interactive adventure show!

This Netflix Interactive Series launches on Wednesday 10th April. YOUR choices are now the key to my survival. YOU are in charge. Please choose wisely.

We also hope for Grylls sake in the show viewers ‘choose wisely’. From my experience with Bandersnatch, these interactive programmes are a lot darker and more twisted than I first expected.

The trailer does look fun though, opening on Grylls clinging to a rope on a rock-face telling viewers ‘my adventure is up to you’ as two options appear on the screen; ‘climb up’ and ‘jump down’.

Grylls continues:

I’m Bear Grylls, and I have spent my life showing you how to survive in some of the world’s toughest terrains.

Together you and I are going to find our way back to civilisation. You are in charge here, you are on this journey with me, you decide.

And if you don’t make the right choices, it might not end well for me.

While I am looking forward to watching the series, it does sound like too much responsibility!

You vs. Wild will be available to stream on Netflix from April 10.
