Woman Who Insisted Her Dog Was Vegetarian Proved Wrong In ‘Seconds’ On Live TV

News flash pet owners, cats and dogs are not vegetarians. Nor can you train them to go on a non-meat-eating diet. Yet some owners still insist on feeding their dogs vegetarian meals.

One pet owner who was raising her dog as a vegetarian was left dumbfounded on live TV after her four-legged friend showed a clear preference for meat over vegetables.

Lucy Carrington chose to put her husky, Storm, on a non-meat diet this summer when she started to go off her food.

Appearing on today’s episode (August 31), of This Morning, she told stand-in hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford she believed Storm only wanted to eat vegetables exclusively. She began buying him meat-free dog-food and giving him her leftover vegetables.

But during her appearance on the show, Storm left her red-faced as he headed straight for a bowl of meat, which was next to a bowl of carrots and peas, crushing her argument within mere seconds. Awkward.

During the segment, the doggo was offered two options of food while vet, Scott Miller – who also appeared on the show – stated Storm’s change in diet was denying him a choice.

Host, Holmes said:

You say dogs can’t make the choice, but on this programme they can make the choice.

Within a matter of seconds, Storm was chowing down on the bowl of meat, leaving his owner red-faced on live TV.

As her dog wolfed down chunks of meat Lucy, who’s confessed she’s not vegetarian, looked at him and said:

Oh you little.. I didn’t swear. In fairness the weather has cooled down quite dramatically.

Dogs, just like kids with their parents, love to embarrass their guardians in public.

Those watching took to Twitter to revel in Storm’s preference of meat… as if it was some form of moral victory/vindication for unashamed meat eaters across the UK.

One viewer, Jo Simcock wrote:

#ThisMorning I am roaring at Storm the “vegetarian” dog eating all the meat [sic]

While another, Diane Baker, said:

@thismorning that poor dog storm is loving the meat and the owner just feeds him a veggie diet but unfair on the dog I think [sic]

One tweeter, Steve Oscar, felt very jubilant when he shared his hot take on Twitter, writing:

Ha ha ha ha. Yes, Storm. Point proven. Brilliant. Meat tastes like murder and let’s face it, murder tastes pretty damn good [sic]

And Gareth Davis chimed in to tweet:

Storm the ‘vegetarian’ Dog on @thismorning, the canine equivalent of Pam-lar from Gavin & Stacey, straight to the meat! [sic]

During her appearance on the show, Lucy told Eamonn and Ruth:

During the summer months she just went off her food, strangely. I’m certainly not one of those, I’m not vegetarian I’m not a vegan, far from it, though I’ve reduced my meat consumption

Despite her explanation This Morning viewers accused Lucy of ‘animal cruelty’.

While that may be a stretch, it’s been recommended to only feed your dog meat as sits well with their metabolism.
