Another dream job alert here folks, is the universe trying to tell us something? Read into it what you will, but if you’re planning a career change then read on, intrepid jobseeker.
MUTTS Canine Cantina is looking for interns to come and play with their puppies, you’d be a ‘puptern’, but don’t let the portmanteau put you off. It’s real job paying real money to play with real puppies. For real.
The Texas-based bar and restaurant is willing to pay someone $100 an hour (booking my flights now) to hang out with their dogs at their Dallas-Fort Worth location.
MUTTS Canine Cantina is, as you may have guessed, a very dog-friendly restaurant, where customers are encouraged to bring their canine compadres along for a meal.
They are fully equipped with an onsite dog park and plenty of treats for humans too, including an array of local craft beer and freshly cooked meals.
To bag the job of a lifetime, which as we know will be seven times longer in dog years, the cantina is looking for you to get creative.
Posting to Instagram, they said:
Show us your puppy petting skills! Do you have what it takes to be the first-ever MUTTS Puptern at our brand new location in Fort Worth?
Post a photo or video by 11/12 that shows us your puppy petting skills and use #MUTTSpuptern and tag @muttscantina for a chance to be hired as our Puptern and get PAID $100 per hour to pet puppies at our new location! Creativity is encouraged– tell us why you’re the best fit for the position in your caption!
So what’s the catch? Picking up the poop? Tasting the dog food before it gets given to the dogs? Well apparently there is no catch.
Kyle Noonan, co-founder of MUTTS Canine Cantina, said, as per Bustle:
We are looking forward to hiring our first ever Puptern.
There aren’t many opportunities out there that pay interns to strictly play with dogs all day long.
Typically, there may be other responsibilities that come with the job, but not this one. I’d be lying if I said this is going to be one ‘ruff’ internship.
I’d say it’s worth applying for that pun alone.
If dogs aren’t your thing though, or maybe the Texan heat puts you off, have you considered something a bit more… Christmassy?
Because if you have, you might want to check out Lapland Safaris, who are looking for Christmas elves to work full time through the holiday season – from the end of November 2018 to the beginning of January 2019 – to spread cheer and goodwill to holiday makers in the Scandinavian countryside.
You could be working in Finland, assisting the safari guys with all things festive. From guiding guests to driving the elf bus, you’ll need to channel Buddy and embrace the festive spirit like you’ve never embraced it before.
You’ll be equal parts entertainer, tour guide, driver and general good time elf. Interested? Check out more here.
