With the release of Spectre just round the corner, Daniel Craig has said some pretty choice words about the likelihood of him reprising his role as the famous secret agent.
In a recent interview with Time Out, Craig stated that he would rather ‘slash his own wrists’ than play the part again. He is still contracted to play Bond after Spectre’s release, but it’s looking more and more likely we could be seeing somebody else in the role.
Craig said:
I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists [than do another film]. No, not at the moment. Not at all. That’s fine. I’m over it at the moment. We’re done, all I want to do is move on.
When asked if he wanted to move away from the role, he replied:
For at least a year or two, I just don’t want to think about it. I don’t know what the next step is…. Who the fuck knows? At the moment, we’ve done it. I’m not in discussion with anybody about anything. If I did another Bond movie, it would only be for the money.
As for who might be the next Bond? It’s looking like a two horse race between Idris Elba and Damien Lewis, but Craig wasn’t willing to give any clues away saying only,”I don’t give a fuck.”
Spectre will be screening in UK cinemas from October 26, and by the sounds of this interview, it could be the last chance to see Craig’s Bond on the big screen.
