GettyThe daughter of the late Fast and Furious star Paul Walker reportedly plans to pursue legal action against Porsche over the crash in which he died.
Walker was a passenger in a Porsche Carrera GT, driven by his friend Roger Rodas, which crashed into a pole and burst into flames near Los Angeles in November 2013, killing both men.
Now, his 16-year-old daughter Meadow has filed a wrongful death case against the car-making giants, alleging they took safety shortcuts.
After a four-month investigation, police said the car was travelling at 94mph (151kph) in a 45mph zone when it hit the lamppost. However, according to TMZ, the lawsuit contends that the car was actually travelling much slower when it spun out of control.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the legal document claims the car lacked “features that could have prevented the accident or, at a minimum, allowed Paul Walker to survive the crash”.
The suit alleges Porsche knew the car model had a “history of instability and control issues” and that the seatbelts were so flawed in their design they trapped Walker inside the car when the car caught ablaze.

This snapped Walker’s torso back with thousands of pounds of force, thereby breaking his ribs and pelvis, flattening his seat and trapping him in a supine position, where he remained alive until the vehicle erupted into flames one minute and 20 seconds later. Absent these defects in the Porsche Carrera GT, Paul Walker would be alive today.
Last year, Rodas’ widow filed a similar lawsuit but Porsche claimed that the crash was the driver’s fault, rather than being down to design flaws in the car.
Neither Meadow Walker or Porsche have yet commented publicly on the reports she will sue the company.
