KFCIn case you missed it, there was a pretty mega royal wedding this weekend. And in case you missed another thing, KFC were celebrating the occasion in style by serving chicken in commemorative, bone china buckets.
The fried chicken giant had 50 of the ornately designed china buckets available on a first-come first-served at its Windsor branch on Saturday – shock horror, the entire supply was snapped up, as revellers celebrated Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s marriage.
If like me, geographical location prevented you from getting your hands on a piece of history, fear not…
KFCKFC’s ‘Royal Bucket’ has made its way to eBay, but be warned – they’re not quite the price of your average bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken.
One optimistic seller has set their buy it now price at £1,000, but they’re probably rounding up, as another has listed it at a more ‘reasonable’ £800.

ONLY 50 WILL BE RELEASED WORLDWIDE FROM KFC WINDSOR BRANCH, DEDWORTH ROAD.
THIS IS AN EXTREMELY RARE ITEM, AND WILL BE HIGHLY COLLECTABLE.

eBayA KFC spokesperson explained prior to the exchange of Harry and Meghan’s vows why it was only right for them to commemorate the big day:
When we discovered Prince Harry proposed over a roast chicken, we simply had to show our support for the big occasion.
We’re preparing for a rush on orders next Saturday as the people of Windsor flock to our Dedworth Road restaurant to get their hands on this priceless piece of British history.
The limited edition bucket features a shiny gold leaf image of the Colonel and the KFC logo on the front, while the back displays a commemorative message with the date of the big day and both the UK and American flags.
Sadly, unlike the bucket’s original distributors, the eBay sellers are not including any delicious chicken. But it seems the buckets for sale haven’t been used, or have been cleaned really well, at least.
KFCSadly for those wanting something a little more permanent, and with less risk of bankruptcy, the time has passed where you could’ve won a china bucket.
Before the royal wedding, KFC announced that 25 additional bespoke Commemorative Buckets, made from luxurious fine bone china, would be available exclusively for KFC’s Colonel Club members to win until Sunday May 20.
If you are still balking at the figures on eBay, well, you should’ve got out of bed earlier and headed to Windsor where you could’ve got a bucket from just £10.99…
