Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are back at it again with the back-and-forth banter.
The unbeatable couple goals of Reynolds and Lively shone through Twitter once again, as the trailer for Lively’s new film sparks the question ‘What happened to Emily?’
The trailer for A Simple Favor, where Lively plays the mysterious Emily, left many fans wondering. Possibly the most desperate to know the answer, however, was her husband and Deadpool star, Ryan Reynolds.
Following Lively’s tweet of the trailer for her upcoming movie, Reynolds played the husband and father card to find the answer, hilariously tweeting:
You can tell me. We’re married. You once drove me to the hospital when you were giving birth. So… what the fuck happened to Emily?
Whilst subtly giving promo to his wife’s new movie, Ryan offers this hysterical insight to the birth of their child. Like me, you now might be wondering why Lively supposedly drove herself to the hospital instead of her doting husband, but that’s not the mystery in question here.
Blake Lively didn’t hold back with her response, teasing Reynolds as she tweeted:
Oh darling, of all the secrets I’m keeping from you, this should be the LEAST of your concerns… trust me.
It seems Deadpool has met his match with the Gossip Girl star.
This Twitter interaction between the couple isn’t the only banter surrounding Lively’s new film; Ryan recently joked that he’d learned through Instagram he’d been thrown out of the house.
As a publicity stunt ahead of A Simple Favor, Blake deleted all of her Instagram followers, including Ryan Reynolds, and then proceeded to only follow those named Emily Nelson.
Ryan offered a heartbroken reaction to this news, telling Nova 100:
It stings. It’s a terrible way to find out that I’ve been kicked out of the house, to be honest. Absolutely terrible.
Ryan threw his own shade in a birthday wish to Blake on Instagram back in 2017, wishing ‘Happy Birthday to my amazing wife’, while almost entirely cutting her out of the picture.
Blake got her own back for that one too, posting a photo which consisted mostly of Ryan Gosling, with a sliver of Reynolds, captioned ‘Happy Birthday, baby’.
Lively and Reynolds’ relationship stability was questioned recently, with media reports suggesting they’re struggling ‘to find quality time together’ because of their work schedules.
However, Ryan quickly shut down rumours in a style true to form after appearing with both Blake and his mum on a red carpet, explaining ‘We’re never splitting. She’ll always be my mom’.
Blake has since decided to let Ryan back on her Insta feed, and we can only hope for his sake she’ll soon tell him what happened to Emily.
Although if not, we might be graced with some more previously unheard hilarious birthing stories from the curious Deadpool star, which are always welcome.
