There aren’t many downsides to being one of David Beckham’s kids, but your age being widely disseminated on Google is definitely one of them.
Brooklyn Beckham discovered this last week when he tried to buy alcohol and failed miserably, as the server instantly recognised him as underage.
The 17-year-old was at Apple Music Festival at Camden’s Roundhouse with his mate Chance the Rapper, when he tried to buy himself a beverage.
According to the Mirror, the girl behind the bar knew who Brooklyn was and he ‘was left looking pretty sheepish’ as he was forced to stick to the juice all night.
Unfortunately for Brooklyn, no amount of high quality fake IDs or ingenious disguises would fly in any bar where the staff own a TV or a magazine or have an Instagram account. The kid is everywhere, particularly now he’s wangled a career in photography, thanks to our culture of celebrity and nepotism.
Unlike this resourceful Scottish teen who dressed up as his mum to buy booze, Brooklyn’s chances of convincingly dressing up as Victoria Beckham herself are pretty slim too.
So next time you’re lamenting the difficulties of getting served in a bar, spare a thought for Brooklyn.
Pour some out for the lost dignity…
