The model – I’m refusing to say actress after she effectively ruined Suicide Squad, with her quivering blue Enchantress character – has certainly raised eyebrows with the extreme cut.
Alas she has not just randomly decided to do it on a ‘fashion’ whim, there is an actual reason behind the unconventional look…
The 24-year-old model is cast alongside Jaden Smith for new film Life in a Year.
Now the film’s subject matter is pretty devastating, as it follows the story of Jaden – who plays the part of Daryn – who discovers his girlfriend (Cara) is dying and wants to give them an ‘entire life’ together in a year.
Fair play to her, just wearing a bald cap wasn’t enough, Cara instead decided to really get into the role by embracing the razor and shaving off her locks completely, according to her Twitter fan page.
Although it seems pretty drastic, it certainly wasn’t a casual ‘spur of the moment’ decision and was clearly planned.
She explained on USA Today she didn’t part with her hair before having some fun:
I have to shave my head for my next part, so I have to do something different.
So I dyed it. Just for fun. Just to change it up.

I’m pretty sure whichever hairstyle she opts for, it’s not going to improve her acting skills though…
