Ed Sheeran has emerged into the public for the first time since Princess Beatrice accidentally sliced his face open with a sword.
At a royal shabang where the two were getting merry on the taxpayer’s champagne, the Princess of York slashed everyone’s favourite ginger and ‘nearly blinded’ him.
She was innocently pretending to knight James Blunt, but Ed ended up taking the brunt of it as she swung the sword behind her to where he was standing.
Apparently Beatrice was ‘deeply upset and inconsolable’ although Ed did try to comfort her by saying it was ‘just an accident’.
PAHe appeared publicly for the first time at a charity dinner for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) at the Natural History Museum in London, Digital Spy reports.
He sported the scar left from the incident, and made a joke at his own expense.
He told the audience:
It’s nice to be back. I’ve had a whole year off. I went to Japan for about a month and hung out with Japanese people. Got my face cut open, anyone read about that?
‘The A Team’ singer was treated in a nearby hospital and given stitches.
It’s a pretty deep scar, but he seems to have taken it pretty well – maybe he’ll write a song against the Princess as revenge?
