Elon Musk is known throughout the world as being a great innovator of advanced technologies, and a forward-thinking entrepreneur.
Little is known about the man’s family life, but a recent revelation about Elon Musk’s father has set the internet alight.
Musk’s father, Errol Musk, has had a baby with his own stepdaughter, and has said it was ‘God’s plan’ for the two to fall in love.
Musk Sr, 72, described the 10-month-old baby boy he had with his stepdaughter Jana Bezuidenhout, 30, as ‘exquisite’.
Errol married Jana’s mother Heide when Jana was four, but he has told The Sunday Times that he does not consider Jana to be his stepdaughter because she had been raised away from the family for extended periods of time.
Errol and Heide had two children together, but he maintained they separated after two years before they reunited. They divorced 18 years later.
Errol has said that Jana contacted him last year after she split from her then-boyfriend, and he did ‘everything in his power’ to help her.

He said:
We were lonely, lost people. One thing led to another – you can call it God’s plan or nature’s plan. Jana is a delightful girl and a wonderful mother.
She said I had changed her life.
After Jana got in touch with Errol to tell him that she was pregnant, Errol assumed that the ex-boyfriend was the father, so insisted on a DNA test which proved his paternity.
Errol now helps support his stepdaughter and his baby son and does see them regularly, though he does not live with them.
While he is apparently delighted, his family do not share his feelings. Elon even once described Errol as ‘evil’ and a ‘terrible human being’.
While the divide between the Musk family has been long known, it has been previously not clear what is at the heart of the row. The two Musks are said to have not spoken for more than 18 months.
A relation told Mail Online:
Errol got jana pregnant. He is the father of her baby boy, but he was a father to her. The whole family was outraged when we found out.
This is the reason why Elon is so angry with Errol. He is the only father she has ever known. And now he is the father of her child as well.
Errol does not agree with this assessment of the situation, and said that he does not consider children from his previous wives as stepchildren.
He said:
Of course I love him [the baby] dearly, even though it wasn’t planned. I told my daughter, Ali, about him because I thought she would be supportive and understanding.
She said I was insane, mentally ill. She told the others and they went berserk.
Elon broke down in an interview with Rolling Stone last year when discussing his dad, and said he had ‘committed almost every crime you can possibly think of’.
Errol disputed this also, though did allegedly admit he had shot dead three intruders in his home in South Africa, and was acquitted on self defence.
Much like his son, Errol was a gifted engineer who became a millionaire by the time he was 30.
