It’s funny how fashion trends come and go.

During my youth, we would pluck our eyebrows within an inch of their life because it was the ‘in’ thing to do. Nowadays, it’s the bushier the better, which is a bit of a bummer for those of us who went tweezer happy in the early noughties and can no longer brow more than 10mm thick.

These days, you just have to visit a poolside in Ibiza to see under boob tattoos are the trend of the millennial generation, but what will happen when they go out of fashion and Gen Z come in with their baffling new trend?

Well, all we have to do is glance back at the generation before us, when lower back tattoos were all the rage. Fast forward a couple of years, and they’re affectionately nicknamed ‘tramp stamps’.

But like all good fashion trends, they come and go, and if Emily Ratajkowski’s latest Instagram post is anything to go by, she’s officially bringing the tramp stamp back. Well, kinda.

The model celebrated her birthday in true 90s child style, by getting a temporary tattoo of her name on her lower back, and let’s face it, if anyone can pull it off, it’s her.

Sharing her temporary tat, she told her followers how her birthday has ‘really exceeded expectations,’ and it’s not hard to see why. Emily uploaded a video of her tat being transferred onto her lower back, giving us all kinds of childhood nostalgia. Once it was peeled off, it revealed the word ’emrata’ which is of course, her Instagram handle.

Despite being a super hot, mega famous celeb, it seems like Emily is just like the rest of us in wanting to switch things up when we become another year older.

Last night, the now 28-year-old appeared at the Tony Awards where she debuted her brand new chopped hair do, and I think we can all agree she looks incredible.

It’s not clear whether the style icon has ditched her signature long locks for good, or whether she’s sporting a faux bob wig, but either way, we’re here for it.

If Emily wants to bring back velour tracksuits and diamonte teeth accessories to go with her new tat, then I’d absolutely be in favour of that.
