Getty/@Jason Momoa/YouTubeOne of Jason Momoa’s most recognisable traits is his glorious face, complete with luscious locks and relatively lengthy facial hair. But much to fans’ dismay, the actor has now got rid of his beard.
Momoa underwent the transformation in a YouTube video, in which he made viewers watch as he slowly got rid of the beard and revealed his bald chin.
While it’s a sad day for fans of the facial hair, I suppose it frees up much more of the 39-year-old’s face for people to ogle.

In the footage, Momoa revealed he hadn’t shaved since 2012, and bid farewell to his Game of Thrones character Khal Drogo as he fired up the razor, throwing sections of his beard into the wind.
But the actor didn’t decide to take off the hair on a whim; in fact, he actually had a very good reason for shaving.
In the video, he explained:
I just want to do this to bring awareness that plastics are ruining our planet, and I think I have a solution.
I don’t want to bitch about it. There’s only one thing that can really help our planet and save our planet as long as we recycle, and that’s aluminium.
It’s 100 per cent recyclable.
Momoa was promoting water in cans, emphasising the need to move away from plastic packaging to more environmentally friendly materials.
In an Instagram post about the product, he wrote:
Goodbye DROGO, AQUAMAN, DECLAN, BABA
I’m SHAVING this beast off, It’s time to make a change. A change for the better…for my kids, your kids, the world. Let’s make a positive change for the health of our planet.
Let’s clean up our oceans, our land. Join me on this journey. Let’s make the switch to infinitely recyclable [sic] aluminum.
