Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans has confirmed her sons have been removed from her home after her husband shot their family dog.
The news follows Evans removal from the show amid fears her husband, David Eason, was exhibiting an escalating and worrying pattern of behaviour.
Evans has now spoken out on the matter.
In a statement to People, she said:
During this difficult time, I’m focused on getting Kaiser back and cooperating with my legal team on the next steps to getting my children back.
Janelle’s mother already technically has custody of her older son Jace, who she shares with ex Andrew Lewis, but TMZ reports Columbus County Child Protective Services has put Janelle’s visitation with him on hold as a result of concerns over the incident.
Her second son, Kaiser, who she shares with ex Nathan Griffith, lives with her, but was removed from their home on Friday.
Janelle explained to Us Weekly:
Kaiser was taken away Friday without my consent, before Mother’s Day, and I have been in touch with my lawyer pertaining to this matter.
Kaiser was taken from his daycare by his grandmother [Nathan Griffith’s mother, Doris] with no notice or call to me. CPS told Doris to take Kaiser without my consent and still have no legal paperwork signed by the judge stating my kids are taken from me.
She added that her custody agreement with Nathan was still in place, and that he has remained on her side throughout the ordeal.
Janelle said:
Me and Nathan have been in contact during all of this. He doesn’t want Kaiser taken from me.
This comes after the 27-year-old confirmed the death of her dog, Nugget, on Instagram, writing she was ‘speechless’ and ‘so shocked.’
It’s alleged her husband David Eason slammed the pup against their home’s back deck before taking him into the woods and shooting him after he ‘bit’ their 2-year-old daughter, Ensley, in the face. Janelle publicly confirmed Eason killed her dog, TMZ report.
He used to appear alongside Janelle in Teen Mom 2, but was axed by MTV in February 2018 over homophobic comments.
According to sources, MTV executives told Jenelle’s manager the killing of Nugget was the last straw; that they feared Eason was out of control, and they wanted no part in what they see as a looming disaster.
A spokesperson said:
We have stopped with Jenelle Eason as of April 6, 2019 and have no plans to cover her story in the upcoming season.
MTV ended its relationship with David Eason over a year ago in February 2018 and has no filmed any new episodes of Teen Mom 2 with him since.
