Bit of celebrity tittle tattle, don’t mind if I do, it is the weekend after all – and the best kind, dripping with ended relationship juice, as Jennifer Aniston has released a statement about her ex Brad Pitt.

The internet rumour mill went into absolute overdrive since it was announced Jennifer Aniston and husband Justin Theroux are divorcing, because doesn’t everyone just love the idea of her getting back with Brad? That’s not a rhetorical. I’m genuinely confused by people sometimes.

Then there’s the whole, ‘Oh, is he going to be a shoulder for her to cry on?’ angle, which obviously isn’t a shoulder when you say it in that way.

Bookies even have odds on Brad and Jen getting back together, (really), which they slashed to 2-1 on Friday.

Jen’s kind of had enough with this, Hello! report and a statement made by Jennifer’s publicist said:

Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else’s fictional narrative.

Jen and Justin’s decision to go their separate ways ‘was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year’, according to a statement released on Thursday through the Friends actor’s publicist.

The couple, who describe themselves as ‘best friends’, say they would have handled their separation privately, but they wanted to put a stop to tabloid speculation and ‘convey the truth directly.’

The statement, via spokesman Stephen Huvane, reads:

In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation.

This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year.

We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship.

In a ‘seriously guys can you just leave us alone’ kinda way, the statement continued:

Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly.

Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else’s fictional narrative. Above all, we are determined to maintain a deep respect and love that we have for one another.

Break ups suck, so best of luck, even if you probably don’t appreciate my tabloidy, gossipy, trash opinion.
