Funnyman Jim Carrey has been sporting a grand beard recently which has stolen the internet’s heart, but sadly it is no more.

His grey grizzly facial fuzz has been stealing the show for the past year, becoming a signature part of Carrey’s appearance.

Even though it made him look much older than his 55 years, social media loved Carrey’s selfies showcasing his impressive facial growth.

When Carrey appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier this year, he spoke about his famous facial hair.

He said:

Everywhere I go, people talk about the beard. They can’t really think about anything else.

Wherever I show up, it becomes this story. It’s a bigger star than me. It has its own Twitter.

The beard’s Twitter account always provided laughs but all good things must come to an end:

Walking the red carpet at the 74th Venice International Film Festival, Carrey was beard-free as he attended a screening of, Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond – The Story of Jim Carrey & Andy Kaufman Featuring a Very Special, Contractually Obligated Mention of Tony Clifton.

Yes the title of the film really is that long!

The documentary follows Carrey as he plays Andy Kaufman for the 1999 film Man on the Moon, a movie which saw the funnyman take method acting to extreme levels to portray the eccentric comedian.

Even though he looks about 20 years younger, admittedly we prefer the fabulous facial fuzz.

Maybe bring it back for Movember Jim?
