Mia Khalifa has said she’ll be going under the knife after being hit in the chest by a hockey puck, which has left part of her chest ‘deflated’.
The former adult film actor was watching a Stanley Cup Playoff game when the six-ounce disk went flying into her as she was spectating.
Mia said it’s ruptured her left breast implant and, at the time, left her feeling like ‘blood was going everywhere’.
The American-Lebanese presenter, and passionate sports fan, even decided to keep the puck as a valued and much-loved souvenir, despite the damage it’s caused.
Mia stated how the puck – used in game four between the Washington Capitals and Tampa Bay Lightning – was probably travelling at around 80mph.
The sports enthusiast was sitting right on the glass, and as any hockey fan will tell you, sitting in this area is prime puck territory – you’ve got to keep your wits about you!
Now, according to the Daily Star, the West Ham fan has revealed she’ll have surgery to repair the damage done to her left breast at the beginning of next year.
She said:
I was sitting behind the glass during a game, and it came shooting over the glass and it caught me so off guard and I had no idea it was coming.
I grabbed my chest and I didn’t want to let go, because I felt like if I did let go blood was going to be everywhere.
I got to take it home, it was the single greatest souvenir any hockey fan can get: a game-used puck that comes at you and hits you.
They’re really heavy, it’s pure rubber, they go at about 80mph. My left breast is slightly deflated now and I will be getting it fixed next year.
However Mia, who presents Rooster Teeth’s sports video podcast Sportsball, said it wasn’t the most painful experience of her life:
I’ve seen my team (Washington Capitals) lose before, that’s a lot more painful.
After the incident, Mia – who is said to have played hockey and lacrosse when she was growing up in Washington DC – wrote on her Instagram:
I got hit in the boob with a puck during the game, and I’m 80% sure it ruptured an implant.
But the good news is, I got a game used puck from a Capitals Stanley cup playoff game. Worth it.
It came as a bit of a surprise to people to find out she was a West Ham fan, which she disclosed not too long ago.
Speaking about her love for the east end team she said:
I watched Green Street hooligans when I was young and ever since then I’ve loved West Ham. I haven’t been to any games, that was actually my first time ever in England when I was there.
I could see the stadium from where I was at the top of the tower, it looked a little far away. I would love to (attend a game), I actually plan on going back to do a food tour there.
And I’m going to make it line up with a match that I can go and see.
Mia concluded:
They (fans in Green Street) were just so rough around the edges and a little badass, and also I love the song, Bubbles.
To be fair Mia, if you wanted a Claret and Blue team to support – you should have gone for the mighty Aston Villa! A team who’ve tasted European glory *smiles smugly*.
Anyway, enough about sport, good luck with the surgery Mia!
