You may remember an early noughties comedy called Just Married, where Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy endure a disastrous honeymoon, complete with cockroaches and sex toy mishaps.
And it seems life has since truly imitated art. When it came to Ashton tying the knot with former That 70’s Show co-star, Mila Kunis, their subsequent honeymoon was reportedly an absolute nightmare.
Although you might expect nothing but champagne and high living for these two, the Hollywood couple actually spent, what should have been the most romantic trip of their lives, in an RV Park with Ashton’s Parents.
Speaking on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, 34-year-old Mila relived, what she described, as a ‘real life National Lampoon movie,’ complete with broken air conditioning and outdated directions.
Reminiscing over the comically calamitous trip, the Bad Moms actor said:
I started recording this because it became absurd, but if you’ve ever seen the National Lampoon movies, our honeymoon was like a real-life National Lampoon’s honeymoon.
I’m not exaggerating, I’m not saying it for a laugh. We also went honeymooning with my in-laws.
She explained how the disaster took place while travelling in an RV she’d gifted Ashton for his birthday, a move which turned out to be somewhat of a ‘boo-boo’ on her part.
Mila explained:
[It was] not the most luxury of RVs, but fine. And I was like, ‘clearly this is a great birthday gift.’ Gave it to him for his birthday, not thinking that my husband’s gonna go ‘oh that’s our honeymoon.’
And I was like ‘wait, no!’
Why was her father-in-law / his dad on their honeymoon with them? ?

Sounds like a Great Honeymoon?

It’s probably never a great start to a honeymoon when your in-laws are having more fun than you are.
Mila revealed how she and Ashton rattled along in their ‘little tin can on wheels’ while his parents enjoyed ‘the Taj Mahal of RVs,’ complete with a jacuzzi.
To make matters even more stressful, Mila and Ashton were also travelling with their then ten-month-old daughter, Wyatt.
You can watch Mila recounting the frustrating journey for yourself below:
Catastrophe struck in Bakersfield, just eight hours into the trip, when their air conditioning broke, in sweltering 110 degree heat. And things just escalated from there.
According to Mila:
We almost died on the side of the road when Apple Maps took us on a road … it wasn’t a road.
It was a fire road on the side of a mountain. We all had to jump out of the vehicle and walk for like three miles while my father-in-law drove the van.
Ashton navigated him over gigantic boulders because there had just been a massive flood. Guys, this was like day two.
Mila continued to explain how her ‘wonderful, beautiful’ mother-in-law used outdated travel books to locate RV parks close to Napa Valley.
As Jimmy and the studio audience chuckled, Mila recalled:
She was like ‘we’ll end in Napa, it’ll be beautiful,’ and I was like ‘you know what? What could go wrong? Let me tell you.
An RV park, not in Napa, but an hour outside of Napa with two prisons, okay? Yes guys. That is where our RV trip ended.
And my husband looked at me and goes, ‘I quit’ and I was like ‘me too, let’s go.’
The pair have just celebrated their three year wedding anniversary and appear super happy and loved up, showing how a rocky start to a marriage can sometimes strengthen the relationship.
Congrats Ashton and Mila!
