After Meghan Markle and Prince Harry rode off into the sunset in their Jaguar E-series, the rest of the evening’s antics are fairly unknown.
Only 200 of the 600 guests who were invited to the ceremony were asked to spend the evening with the new couple, with Pippa Middleton and Duchess Sarah Ferguson not making the cut.
Meghan and Harry emerged from their hotel in more relaxed, but still very glamorous outfits, before making their way to their private reception at Frogmore House, with the cameras being left at the door.
Even though the bash was very exclusive and private, there were still some rules put in place. Specifically, there was a ban on jokes about Harry’s former Playboy reputation.
I mean, he used to go out and have a few drinks – I guess for the royals it’s pretty rebellious.
Harry, the current fifth-in-line to the British throne, did have some headline-making days when he was a bachelor though.
He was always seen as the more liberal and rambunctious sibling compared to Will, and often enjoyed partying with the likes of Kanye West and P. Diddy.
He also has a pretty long list of flings and exes, including Ellie Goulding, Cressida Bonas, and Chelsy Davy.
Of the Princes, he’s definitely had the most headlines written, giving Kensington Palace numerous headaches no doubt. But it’s these antics which have made the Prince so popular with the public. They make him human.
Intoxicated post-club tussles, THAT fancy dress costume, and of course – the crown jewel of his larks – when he was photographed gallivanting naked in Las Vegas playing a game of strip billiards with friends.
The two were pronounced husband and wife at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle in front of family and friends, including The Queen, Prince Phillip, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles, as well as co-stars of the show Suits.
The ceremony was officiated by the Dean of Windsor, David Conner, and the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, who performed the newlywed’s vows.
During the ceremony, a sermon was given by Reverend Michael Curry, of the Episcopal Church, in the United States. After being declared husband and wife, Prince Harry and Meghan shared their first kiss in public – as newlyweds – on the steps of St. Geroge’s Chapel.
During the ceremony, Meghan was walked down the aisle by Prince Charles after her father, Thomas Markle, was forced to pull out due to last minute heart surgery this week.
On the morning of the wedding, Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, accompanied her daughter to Windsor Castle with select members of the wedding party.
Meghan released a statement, following her father’s decision to pull out of the wedding, in which she professes she’s ‘always cared’ for him and hopes he can be given the time and space he needs to focus on his health.
She wowed millions of people across the world as she stepped out in her wedding dress and Harry, flanked by best man and older brother Prince William, donned his household cavalry suit. He sported a well-sculpted beard, despite it being a prerequisite for those who serve in the British Army to be cleanly shaven.
According to Kensington Palace, the wedding was attended by 600 guests – a modestly small gathering compared to the William and Kate’s wedding, which boasted 1,900 guests.
A group of 200 close acquaintances will be invited to an after-party at Frogmore House, a short walk from St George’s Chapel.
All of his antics are the reason why Hazza is everyone’s favourite royal.
