It never feels great to watch your ex walk down the aisle and happily enter married life with someone else. But imagine if your ex was a prince.
That’s exactly what Prince Harry’s ex Chelsy Davy seemed to be thinking in a hilarious photo snapped of her at the royal wedding.
Davy, who was Harry’s first major relationship, dated the young prince for several years from their first meeting in 2004, to when she was a guest at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding.
A photo of Davy day-dreaming has tickled the nation, as you can see the deep, dark look of regret and sadness in her eye.
I mean, she’s probably really happy for them, but it’s too good a photo to pass up. Never has a face said ‘It should have been me!’ more than hers.
Samantha Quek posted the photo to Twitter, saying:
Prince Harry’s ex girlfriends face at the #RoyalWedding is a picture #ItShouldHaveBeenMe
It seems odd that Harry would invite his ex to his wedding, but apparently they are still on friendly terms, with Davy telling the Sunday Times style section ‘I think we will always be good friends’.
At least Davy’s woes appear to show only on her face. Meghan Markle’s ex-husband, film and TV producer Trevor Engleson, made headlines with ‘savage revenge’ against his ex-wife, in the form of a new show.
The show will controversially depict a divorced couple and the British Royal Family, according to Deadline.
The show is set to be a comedy, and is about a man who has to share duel custody of his child with the family after his ex-wife marries a prince.
People online have been quick to brand the move as ‘savage’, and have even called Engelson a ‘douchebag’.
In much lighter news, Meghan Markle’s former on-screen husband Patrick J Adams has been using the royal wedding to the maximum for banter purposes, and the world can’t get enough.
Initially Adams, who plays character Mike Ross, took to Twitter to post tongue-in-cheek response to the news of their engagement, quoting Kensington Palace’s announcement and saying ‘She said she was just going out to get some milk…’.
In the run-up to the big day, Adams has left us beautiful breadcrumbs of faux bitterness, the most recent of which was an Instagram post of The Times front page with a caption reading ‘I’m beginning to think she might not actually be out getting milk #royalwedding’.
Woven in between the endearing ‘heartbreak’ at losing his TV wife, Adams also posted a touching coincidence relating to Harry and Meghan’s wedding.
Earlier this morning he tweeted:
70 years ago my grandparents, Patricia and Cedric Marsh were married in a small service in Windsor, England. Just found that out. Already getting misty…
The Royal wedding took place today in Windsor’s St George’s Chapel where Prince Harry will be given the title of Duke of Sussex, with Meghan becoming the Duchess of Sussex.
