With I’m A Celebrity: Get Me Out Of Here gracing our screens once more, it seems all sorts are crawling out from the woodwork – and I’m not just talking about on the show!
As a handful of D-list celebrities are thrust upon the viewing public, the tabloids are now full of the stories of their past, which seemingly most of us don’t really care about.
Cue an ex-boyfriend of Rebekah Vardy – who’s claimed the wife of footballer Jamie Vardy had an affair with him while he was a married man.
37-year-old John Carey, who is an ex-footballer-turned-electrician, alleges he had an affair with the then single Rebekah back in 2006, in Witney, Oxfordshire.
Carey, who at the time was married to Sam King – who was prengant with their second child – says the affair with Rebekah was the final straw in his and Sam’s relationship.
John has now claimed Rebekah ended their relationship shortly after he was kicked out of his marital home by Sam, report The Sun.
John said:
Rebekah always flirted with me. She used to deliberately do stuff to grab my attention, like cleaning the windows in a really short skirt.
He went on to claim the couple got close at a neighbour’s Christmas party, revealing:
I came back to Becky’s for a coffee and it went from there. We had a little kiss that night. She had just split from her first husband so it felt like we had a lot in common.
This went on for months. After work I’d park in woods behind our road and nip into her flat for a few hours before going back to my car and home.
In his head, John states his marital relationship was already over when he started pursuing things with Rebekah.
John also revealed how Rebekah was under the impression he was very wealthy, believing he owned a five-bedroom house and two BMWs.
However, once he split from his wife and had to spend time sleeping on a friend’s sofa, this is the point he claims Rebekah lost interest in him.
As you’ll probably know, Rebekah is currently in the Australian outback, filming for the ITV reality show, so has been unable to respond to the revelations.
However, her agent spoke to the Mirror Online, stating:
It’s impossible for anyone to comment on this on Becky’s behalf as she is uncontactable in Australia.
But if she was living alone at the time and he claims his marriage was over, then we can’t really see any point in the couple even talking about it.
Becky did remark on having had awful things ‘in her mouth before’ on her Bushtucker trial this week, perhaps he could be what she was referring to?
Nice!

It was reported earlier this week Rebekah’s journey in the jungle may have been short-lived.
Following the removal of contestant Jack Maynard for ‘circumstances outside of camp’ – a series of tweets resurfaced from 2012 where the YouTuber had used inappropriate and racist language – Rebekah could have been removed for seemingly similar reasons.
Fans have been calling on ITV to axe her – along with Amir Khan – as both of them have appeared to have posted numerous homophobic tweets, which have now also gone viral.
Rebekah called someone a ‘ginger gay w*nker’ and referred to the messaging service WhatsApp as also being ‘gay’ only four years ago.
@danwootton you might want to expose @RebekahVardy too, Dan. Some anti-gay tweets from her account. Why do people think it’s okay to use the word ‘gay’ to label something negative? So many homophobes around isn’t there.. how sad pic.twitter.com/Bk45P2WHNX

I guess we’ll see soon enough whether John’s speaking any truth, but by the time Rebekah’s back to comment on it, I doubt anyone’s going to care anyway?
