Reese Witherspoon’s daughter has graduated and she looks so similar to her mum, she could recreate the graduation scene in Legally Blonde.
It seems like only yesterday Elle went off to Harvard in Legally Blonde, but we have to face facts – it was 17 years ago, and Reese Witherspoon has a daughter who’s even older than the movie.
Take a trip down memory lane and check out the video below:
Now Reese’s daughter, Ava, is all grown up, people have started to notice something familiar about her, especially when pictured next to her mum.
You only need to have a quick browse through her Instagram to see the resemblance between the pair.
This is Ava:
In case you haven’t spotted what that familiarity is – Ava and Reese look exactly the same.
Fans in the comment sections always seem to point it out!
What do you think:
Reese’s daughter Ava is 18-years-old, and has just graduated from high school.
In celebration of the event, Ava posted to Instagram, with a throw back to her first year at the school, saying:
I graduated high school! (here’s what I looked like at the beginning of it)
She’s definitely her mother’s daughter – just with pink hair in this case.
Reese posted pictures to her Instagram story for their family’s celebration.
Check out the snaps below:
Ava graduated alongside two of her siblings, Deacon – Reese’s middle child – who completed middle school, and Reese’s youngest son Tennessee, who graduated from pre school.
Check out the siblings below:
Reese has posted pictures of herself and Ava in the past, expressing how proud she is of her daughter.
She captioned one Instagram picture with the following message:
She is cutting her own creative path in the world and I could not be prouder of her.
She captioned another:
There’s nothing better than family and I am so proud of my girl @avaphillipe !
Yet there’s one picture where the mother and daughter duo do look incredibly alike:
Fans couldn’t deal with the similar resemblance and took to social media to tell them.
One fan tweeted:
I literally can’t get over how Reese Witherspoon is 42 and her daughter is 18 and they look like SISTERS like imagine looking this good for your age I just can’t deal with this. [sic]

17 years after the original movie, Reese Witherspoon confirmed last week Legally Blonde 3 is in the works.
Mimicking part of her Harvard application video in the original Legally Blonde, Witherspoon made the announcement by posting a video of her floating on a lilo in a pool.
She confirmed rumours, captioning the photo:
It’s true… #LegallyBlonde3
According to the BBC, the third Legally Blonde will be co-produced with Witherspoon’s own media company, Hello Sunshine.
The company claims it ‘celebrates women and puts them at the centre of the story’, and aims to ‘shine a light on where women are at right now and those that help chart a new path forward’.
With Elle Woods being a motivated, smart and strong female in Legally Blonde, it seems like the perfect collaboration.
Deadline‘s Mike Fleming Jr explained the movie is expected to channel the spirit of the original Legally Blonde:
The intention here is to make this more about female empowerment, a message that hits at a fortuitous time in the culture. The feeling is to draw back in the audience that grew up with the original film and find a new global audience.
It’ll be interesting to see how the story adapts to work with the current political climate.
Maybe Reese will get her daughter involved in the upcoming movie – she could be the new Harvard Law graduate following in her mother’s footsteps?
At least there’d be no controversy as to where she got her hard working genes from!
