As if being a World Cup-winning international footballer, with two FIFA World Player of the Year awards and a Ballon d’Or to his name wasn’t enough, it’s been claimed the former Brazilian midfielder, Ronaldinho, was going to marry two women at the same time.
The gold-footed player was allegedly set to tie the knot(s) in August with fiancées, Priscilla Coelho and Beatriz Souza, according to Brazilian columnist Leo Dias, but the legendary forward has since denied the claims.
A translation taken from Dias site reads:
Ronaldinho Gaucho plans to marry his two brides. The ceremony will take place in August, next to the birthday of the miners Priscilla Coelho and Beatriz Souza.
The party will only be for close relatives in the Santa Monica condominium, where the trio lives. His sister, who does not agree with the king’s life, says he will not. The singer Jorge Vercilo, neighbor of Gaúcho, should be responsible for the soundtrack.
However, as reported by The Mirror, Ronaldinho has responded in pretty emphatic fashion:
He told SporTV
The whole world is calling me…I’m not going to get married, it is the biggest lie.
The footballing ace started dating Beatriz in 2016, but also continued his relationship with Priscilla, which began several years earlier.
According to the Mirror, was said to have proposed to both women at the same time.
Apparently, both women receive an ‘allowance’ of around £1,500 from the footballer to spend however they want.
It’s was also reported Ronaldinho’s sister, Deisi, was against her brother’s alleged polygamy and would not be attend any ceremony – however Ronaldinho’s comments condemn this claim to the realms of rumour.
Although the footballer has never publicly confirmed his relationship with the two women, the pair travel everywhere with him, and friends reportedly treat them both as his fianceés.
However, it’s been stated, members of Pricilla’s family were planning on confronting Ronaldinho after news broke she was just one of his lovers.
A family friend said:
They are upset because they discovered that every present he gives to Priscilla, he also gives to the other girl.
She is almost being fired from her job because of this.
Ronaldinho is said to be looking for a new career in politics, after he recently announced his intention to stand in the Brazilian general election, which will take place in October.
The footballer will stand for the Brazilian Republic Party (PRB), according to The Telegraph – a group with strong Right-leaning tendencies.
The group’s electoral number is 10, the same as the number worn by Ronaldinho during his time at Barcelona.
The 37-year-old has been linked with Right-wing political groups in the past, having been aligned with populist presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro.
I guess time will tell what’s next in line for the former footballer.
