Ryan Reynolds has been flexing his social media muscles once again by taking to Instagram to rip the piss out of good pal Hugh Jackman.
Saturday (June 8) was Best Friend Day, which of course presented the perfect opportunity for Reynolds to poke a bit of fun at his bestie Jackman as the latest instalment to their online ‘feud’.
Ryan was up to his usual tricks making fun of his nearest and dearest when he posted a Best Friend Day tribute sharing a picture of himself and Hugh, with a caption in tribute to Jake Gyllenhaal, who Ryan points out is ‘not pictured’ in the post.
‘Happy #BestFriendsDay to Jake Gyllenhaal! (Not pictured),’ he wrote.
In response, Hugh posted a picture of himself and Ryan, alongside a shout out Jake with the caption ‘stage 4 clinger. #bestfriendday #HiJake.’ Clever. We see what you did there, Hugh.
Just as you’d expect, Jake was quick to join in on the bants by posting a picture of himself and Hugh, with a message that said ‘Happy #bestfriendsday to Ryan Reynolds (not pictured).’
But the trolling didn’t end there – taking to the comments section, 42-year-old Reynolds wrote: ‘True story… Hugh is just under 5 feet tall.’
Adding to his own comment, Hugh wrote: ‘Looking forward to our dinner on the 12th. Without… not pictured.’
Anyone who follows the pair on social media will know Ryan and Hugh have enjoyed a friendly online feud since 2015, when Hugh posted a clip on Instagram of Ryan doing an impression of him, complete with Australian accent.
The actors starred in X-Men Origins: Wolverine together in 2009 and continued their public trolling by finding various ways to rip the piss out of each other on social media, like all true best mates should.
Last year, Jake joined in on the merciless piss taking when he and Hugh pranked Ryan by sending him to ‘an ugly Christmas sweater party’ that turned out to not be an ugly Christmas sweater party.
Ryan wrote on Instagram ‘These fucking assholes said it was a sweater party,’ alongside a picture of himself in Christmas jumper while Hugh and Jake wore casual wear. Classic.
