According to the court papers Depp is facing a financial crisis because he spends $2 million a month maintaining his celebrity lifestyle, The Evening Standard reports.

The Pirates of The Caribbean star spunked his fortune on homes, a chain of islands, private planes, jewellery and a yacht spending tens of millions every year.

Depp supposedly spent a whopping $30,000 a month on wine, although we doubt he’s going Spoons for a cheap bottle of Echo Falls, and needed twelve separate storage facilities for his vast collection of wine and art.

Unfortunately for Depp this Richie Rich style spending has reportedly left him ‘on the brink of financial ruin’ his former business managers, The Management Group, claim in a lawsuit.

Depp had originally tried to sue The Management Group earlier this month, claiming his finances were mishandled and was seeking $25 million compensation.

According to Depp his advisers defrauded him out of million of dollars by taking loans out without approval and then hiding his financial problems, only becoming aware of the fact he hadn’t got a pot to piss in when they advised he sell of some French real estate.

His former managers counter-sued Depp yesterday insisting his big spending is the reason he’s skint.

They claim:

Depp lived an ultra-extravagant lifestyle that often knowingly cost Depp in excess of $2 million per month to maintain, which he simply could not afford.

Depp, and Depp alone, is fully responsible for any financial turmoil he finds himself in today.

He has refused to live within his means, despite the best efforts of TMG and the repeated warnings about his financial condition.

The star’s spending, if the allegations are true, makes Bruce Wayne’s spending seem reasonable and he’s said to have spent over islands in the Bahamas, $75 million on 14 homes, including houses in Hollywood and Los Angeles, a horse farm and a 45-acre chateau in the South of France, .

On top of that he spent $18 million buying and fixing a yacht, $3 million blasting Hunter S Thompson’s ashes out of a custom-made cannon and $4 million on a failed record label.
