Yesterday was International Women’s Day and obviously, men everywhere were decrying the day of celebration.

‘When is International Men’s Day?’ you’d hear them ask, ‘isn’t International Women’s Day sexist?’

Well the answers to both of those questions are no, it isn’t sexist and International Men’s Day is November 19.

Yet most men took the day as an opportunity to celebrate the women in their life and to tell them how much they appreciate them.

This included one of the most successful men on the planet, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who wasted no time in teaching his daughter some important stuff.

First of all, calling her his ‘Queen’, Johnson taught his daughter to say ‘Girl Power’, which she does with a cute grin on her face.

From then on though, The Rock gets a bit complicated for his young girl as he tells her to say, ‘International Women’s Day’ and then tries to get her to tell him how incredible he is.

This incredibly cute moment between father and daughter is just the kind of moment which The Rock’s daughter will no doubt grow up to love and appreciate about her old man.

Writing on Instagram, he said:

Girl power. To every woman out there ’round the world – all ages and races – I proudly stand by your side to always honor, protect and respect.

Especially, the loves of my life at home. Now if I can just get Jazzy to say the daddy is the most handsome, brilliant, sexiest man alive part, then we all gonna be cool. [sic]

I mean, he got a little off-message there, but his daughter Jasmine was kind of the centre of attention, just the way it should’ve been on International Women’s Day.

Little Jasmine isn’t The Rock’s only daughter though. Simone Garcia, his teenage daughter, was appointed as an Ambassador of the Golden Globes back in January.

It was the first time this year the Hollywood Foreign Press Association have appointed an ambassador for the annual award show.

It replaces the traditional – and somewhat archaic – title of ‘Miss Golden Globe’, however, the role is still given to an offspring of one of Hollywood’s elite.

The recipient was Simone Garcia Johnson, who was joined by her father when she received the honour.

While on stage, her A-List father told her how ‘incredibly proud’ of her he was.

More men could take a note from The Rock on how to lift up the women in their lives – not literally – even though I’m sure he could.
