A 57-year-old British mum has amassed over 20,000 Instagram followers after taking a leaf out of her 20-year-old daughter’s book, or indeed her Instagram account.
Kasha Grimes has gained this huge following for her age-positive Instagram account – cheekily named NiftyAfterFifty – by copying her daughter’s seductive poses.
Stylish Kasha, from Gloucestershire, often poses with her equally glamorous daughter Misha Grimes, who has 97.6k followers at the time of writing. Fans often remark upon the striking resemblance between the platinum blonde pair.
Kasha’s celebrity status has earned the sort of brand ambassadorships any Love Island winner would give up their best pair of sunglasses for.
‘Mumma Grimes’ as she is often referred to, is an ambassador for PrettyLittleThing, joining the likes of Kendall Jenner, Ashley Graham, and Megan Barton-Hanson.
Kasha also shares her beauty knowledge through her popular YouTube channel – also called NiftyAfterFifty – where she offers pearls of wisdom on everything from anti-ageing tips to body confidence.
According to the channel description:
This channel is dedicated to those who believe that ‘Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional’ (Chili Davis)
I hit 50 with a bang! I looked in the mirror and I did not like what I saw but, let’s face it, did it really matter? According to the media I was on the shelf gathering dust, ageing disgracefully, losing my marbles and quickly approaching the free bus pass entitlement (there are some benefits to being “old”!).
But then I saw a glimmer of hope. Very little but nevertheless, some middle-aged ladies are being given ‘airtime’! Maybe I should take off the my crocs and pick up the heels, get down from the top shelf and dust-off!
And that’s exactly what I did. I entered the “middle ages” with a bang! I got my mojo back but, while I did adjust my speed to take into account the age of my engine and the condition of my bodywork, there was no stopping me in my mad endeavours for doing brilliant.
Kasha’s loyal fanbase love her positive approach to ageing and have empathized with her own personal struggles getting her ‘mojo back’.
As one fan commented:
You are very brilliant; you are a natural psychologist/ psychiatrist and your life experience lends you the insight to offer advice!!!!
Others have described her as being ‘such a strong person’ remarking that she has helped them love themselves more in turn.
Likeable, beautiful and widely beloved. Look out Kylie Jenner, there’s a new top influencer in town, and she has decades more experience…
