Unfortunately, hair disasters are a part of life – a maddening one, at that, but one all the same.
If you’ve made it to adulthood without having such a disaster, I can only applaud you. But one man in China wasn’t as lucky, as a recent trip to his barbers went downhill very quickly.
Because despite walking into the barbers with a full head of hair, he left with less than he bargained for as the barber shaved two triangles into his head. Yep, you heard me right – triangles.
The man went into his appointment with a clear idea of what he wanted, even taking a video of the exact style he wanted to show to his barber.
We’ve all done it – taken a picture of a celebrity into the hairdressers in the hope that you’ll leave the building not only with a fresh new trim, but also resembling them in every way. Hello, Jennifer Aniston.
Obviously, the latter part never happens but we’re always hopeful that our hair, at least, will be something to boast about.
For this particular man though, it wasn’t. Because although he thought the video would give his barber a clear idea of the style he wanted, it instead caused some slight confusion.
You see, instead of taking a screenshot of the video to show his barber, he paused the video which meant a ‘play’ symbol was emblazoned across his screen.
Now, instead of clarifying this with his customer, the barber thought the triangle was part of the style and decided to go all out and shave two into his head – one on each side.
The incident was posted by an influential entertainment blogger, ‘Tian Xiu Bot’, on China’s Twitter-like platform Weibo on December 30.
So far, the post has received nearly 20,000 comments and more than 78,000 likes. It has also been shared more than 22,000 times.
According to the post, the barber allegedly took one look at the screenshot and asked the customer if he wanted to keep the triangle.
Not sure what this meant, the client reportedly said ‘yes’ – not realising that the hairdresser meant this literally and would later shave the triangular ‘play’ symbol into his head.
The person who uploaded the now-viral post joked:
There are not so many rigorous hairdressers like this left.
Now, I don’t know about you guys but I would be completely mortified if this happened to me. I mean, I’ve been known to cry after appointments if I don’t like the colour of my hair, so God knows how I’d react if I had two triangles shaved into my head.
But apparently the man in question was quite pleased with his new look; he was even filmed – in footage shared by the same blogger – strutting across the room looking pleased with himself.
Commenting on the video, Tianxiu Bot – who posted the incident on Weibo – said that the man seemed to be more confident after the haircut.
Well, as long as he’s happy ey?
