Halle Berry Has Had A Huge New Back Tattoo

Halle Berry has new ink and quite a few people have some weird things to say about it.

The Monster’s Ball actor determined she’s definitely, definitely a mermaid who can cook eggs in a *totally random* recent Instagram post, which people are fussing over because it reveals a full-length back tattoo.

The ink appears to be a delicate black and white rendering of a vine branch, sprinkled with leaves, which trails up her spine.

It’s very reminiscent of the tattoo Lady Gaga recently had done to mark her move into Hollywood with her role in A Star Is Born, if you follow these kinds of things and can recall.

Just in case you missed it, Gaga also took to The Grid to show off her new body art.

So, here is her take, tapping into the spinal styles:

It’s unclear if Halle has had her leafy little number inked onto her back recently – so, happily, neither actor will be subject to the inevitable ‘Who Copied Who?’ debate which riles the tattoo community.

Berry – who really went for the wrong plant, if you ask me – may have just coincidentally kept it covered up since having it rendered.

As the proud owner of a back tattoo myself, I can confirm you sometimes forget they exist.

Sometimes you want to forget, even when they’re on your forearm:

Luckily, Halle now has posted photographic evidence so she can see the ink whenever she likes without having to cleverly construct a double-mirror fort through which she can admire the design.

The photo looks to have been taken in her very chrome kitchen, as she preps to break an egg into a frying pan wearing only a sparkly skirt, which looks like it’s straight off the pages of discount Insta-shops.

Here it is:

Who says I’m not a mermaid 🧜‍♀️

Really, I suspect the tattoo has been photo-shopped into the image to distract from the dangerous culinary endeavor Halle is about to undertake…

Think of the oil spitting, Halle!

She captioned the photograph – which was also shared to her story alongside a little jellyfish GIF – by jokingly demanding she’s a mermaid, so maybe her skin is water and hot oil-proof.

Meanwhile, in the comments section, some observers seem less concerned with her kitchen etiquette and more concerned with using their platform of little accountability to be gross, thus is the state of the World Wide Web.

An ungodly amount of blokes begged Halle to ‘turn around’, propositioning the Academy Award winner on Instagram in the saddest, most futile attempt online at this moment in time.

Others liked the tattoo. The Internet Jury reviews are in and ranging across all shades of nice, from ‘dope’ to ‘sweet’ to ‘beautiful’ and beyond.

Off Instagram, Halle stars as an assassin and a friend to John Wick in John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum, which will be released nationwide May 17.
