Russia is known for its bizarre ways and it certainly isn’t going to shake that opinion any time soon, when they do stuff like this.
A 27-year-old road safety inspector has been named Miss Russian Police in a weird beauty contest for female officers.
Daria Pletnova was pitted against seven others from across the nation for the title, which she claimed at an awards ceremony in St Petersburg the Daily Mail reports.
Daria – who has a two-year-old son – apparently impressed the judges on the night, performing a song and dance as part of the routine. All the important stuff you need to be able to do as a cop.
As well as her crown, she received a special pass to give her free admission to all the events of the local police cultural centre. Exciting times?
Lieutenant of internal service, Valeria Kostyna and Svetlana Skripina – who works as an inspector of criminal investigations, were runners-up.
Judges chose their winner in categories like ‘Charisma’, ‘Charm’, ‘Grace’, ‘Femininity’ and ‘Perfection’.
