For some reason a woman’s nipple causes all sorts of outrage – even in this day and age.

Back in 2012, the ‘Free the nipple’ campaign was created to argue that women should be allowed to bare their nipples in public.

Celebrities have even got involved with this debate with stars such as Kendall Jenner saying:

I really don’t see what the big deal is with going bra-less.

Not sure whether it’s coincidence or just fashion but there’s also been a rise in see-through style tops, especially as more female celebrities embrace their breasts.

Worryingly now though, the new trend has created a whole new type of cosmetic surgery.

In a bid to get the ‘perfect look’, woman are getting a ‘nipple tuck’.

Dr. Norman Rowe, a plastic surgeon with the American Board of Plastic Surgery, said to the Daily Mail:

People are looking at every detail.

It’s not enough now to get a breast augmentation or rhinoplasty — women want to fine-tune every element and these days, that’s possible.

This trend has really come about in the last six months – a year tops.

Dr Rowe believes the blame for this type of trend lies with celebrities and their fashion choices, saying it fuels a desire for a particular type of breast.

He said:

You see a lot of celebrities now wearing see-through dresses.

My patients come in with pictures from magazines of nipples that they want – they want to wear see-through dresses too, and that makes them take a closer look at their nipples.

For want of a better word, they want headlights.

Woman are reportedly wanting breasts that have prominent nipples.

He continued:

I’ve had a number of women tell me that, when they’re wearing a bathing suit, they want their nipples to be more prominent.

Other procedures reportedly asked for include reversing an ‘innie’ nipple to an ‘outie’ and even changing the colour to go lighter or darker.

However it’s not the first time a trend has seemingly put women’s chests into the spotlight – remember disco breasts, more commonly referred to as glitter tits?

Regardless – how, in 2017, is an anatomical aspect of a woman’s body causing so much fuss?
