Not that I’m an expert by any stretch of the imagination (in fact I tend to shy away from them), but a decent background can make or break a selfie.
While most of us will opt for whatever’s there – usually the bathroom mirror or a nice exposed-brick wall – or just whatever’s at hand – there are some individuals who can afford the finer things in life, and love nothing more than gratuitously displaying their wealth on social media.
Though I’m not sure paying to look wealthier than you are makes any sense…
If the thought of buying a whole private jet to get your selfie kicks is a bit too much, there’s a company out there who might just have the solution to your very first-world problems.
Russian company Private Jet Studio is offering people the chance to hop onboard a private jet – not for a flight or anything, oh no. To simply pose in one of their luxurious plane’s and have a few photos taken.
The company will lend you their private plane (grounded, of course) for 14,000 roubles (£185) for a two-hour shoot with a professional photographer, or 11,000 roubles (£145) without a photographer – if you think your selfie skills are up to it.
According to the Independent, you can also hire a professional videographer for £330.
The company, based in Moscow, also offer professional hair and make-up for the full effect.
The website reads:
This is the biggest, fastest and most expensive business – aviation aircraft. The luxurious interior of the aircraft is made of high-quality and natural materials.
You can organise an unusual and unforgettable photo shoot for yourself and your customers, which they will never forget.
In case you need some Insta’ inspo, here are some examples of just a few of the looks you could achieve:
Perhaps someone should tell preacher Jesse Duplantis about the photo ops, as the evangelical minister has asked his ‘disciples’ to raise $54 million (£41 million) so he can have his own private jet… despite having three already.
In a video addressed to his followers (posted in May this year), the 68-year-old evangelical preacher, who founded the Jesse Duplantis Ministries (JDM) in Destrehan, Louisiana, says having his own plane would enable him to fly ‘anywhere in the world in one stop’.
He’d be reducing his fuel expenses and maintaining his global reach in places like the UK and Australia at the same time, CBS News reports.
Duplantis says in the video:
I really believe that if the Lord Jesus Christ was physically on the Earth today, he wouldn’t be riding a donkey.
He’d be in an airplane flying all over the world.
He goes on to say:
We’re believing God for a brand new Falcon 7X, so we can go anywhere in the world in one stop.
Now people say, ‘My lord, can’t you go with this one?’ Yes, but I can’t go in one stop.
If I can do it for one stop, I can fly it for a lot cheaper because I have my own fuel farm. And that’s what’s a blessing of the Lord.
From selfies to spreading the good word, who’d have thought private jets could do so much?
