Underwear brand Calvin Klein has left social media followers feeling uneasy after the release of one of their latest campaign posters.
The image, which was released via Instagram, invited followers to ‘take a peek’ up the skirt of 23-year-old Klara Kristin.
Mashable reports the image is part of a ‘risqué’ new marketing campaign called ‘Erotica’.
The image, snapped by Harley Weir, featured the message ‘I flash in #mycalvins‘ and certainly did the trick in getting people’s attention.
But, despite over 45,000 likes, many of the comments were actually negative.
One of the top comments simply read ‘disgusting’, while another believed Klein had grown out of touch saying: “This is not progressive. It is a tired old marketing strategy that died out with the dinosaurs.”
One user even suggested the picture had ensured they’d never purchase CK products again:
Wow, total paedofile click bate. I won’t be buying any CK gear again.
But there was some defense offered to the globally renowned fashion retailer:
It’s just a fucking picture. Donald Trump is about to be president and y’all are wound up about a fucking picture?
An underwear brand can’t really advertise pants without taking images of underwear, but was this really the best way to do it?
