Now, I know there’s a lot of people out there who claim to be the biggest Avengers fans ever – but let me ask you this, how many times have you been to see Avengers: Infinity War?
I’ve seen it numerous times since its release, and I watched all the Marvel films in order prior to it coming out – so I thought that alone put me up there?
Clearly not! Let me introduce you to to Kieran Harvey…
17-year-old Kieran, from Staffordshire, is definitely a contender for the biggest Avengers fan in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (and ours), after seeing Avengers: Infinity War 100 times!
Yes you read that correctly. 100 times since its release on April 26, 2018.
Speaking to UNILAD, Kieran revealed:
I really didn’t plan on seeing it this many times it just sort of happened, I go to the cinema an awful lot anyway, I saw Black Panther 30 times and so far have seen the new Deadpool 20 times.
However Avengers just felt so different to anything I’ve ever seen before, and I just love it so much so have been going as much as I can!
As soon as the trailer was released I thought, I’m going to watch this a hell of a lot but I just thought I’d reach 40, maybe pushing 50, but here we are at 100 and it’s crazy.
Going to the cinema nowadays isn’t exactly a cheap option – especially compared to what it used to be – so I for one was wondering how on Earth Kieran was able to afford all these trips!
A simple and cost-effective solution is the answer Kieran tells us:
I do have a limitless card which is why I go to the cinema so much. I’ve only missed about three days this year so far where I haven’t been at the cinema.
So that cost just under £200, which isn’t bad going for the amount I should be paying on Avengers alone!
Most of the time I’ve been by myself, I don’t know anyone who could keep up with the amount I go! However sometimes I’ll go with my parents if they want to see it again, and I have been with friends a few times but the majority of the time I’ve been going solo.
We’re not even two months on from the release of Avengers: Infinity War and I’m no mathematician, so I think it means Kieran has seen the film 100 times over a period of 44 days. Which equates to watching it at least twice a day – in some instances, three minimum.
Kieran explained to UNILAD:
I’ve just been going daily, multiple times, and somehow ended up at 100 after only a month and a half of it being released.
I’d look at cinema times in the morning and plan my day to see which screenings I could make it to and it seems to have escalated quite far.
Because it’s such a huge film there were many screenings on, almost every screen was showing it so that helped me view it a lot each day – if it was only on a couple of screens, there’s no way I’d be anywhere near as high a number I am now.
The most I’ve done in a day is four I believe, and I did four on opening day! The midnight premiere then three after college.
I was surprised I managed to do it considering after the midnight premiere I was speechless and didn’t know what I’d just watched, it just felt crushing. But that soon changed in a matter of hours!
Avengers: Infinity War has been smashing box office records and has received critical acclaim – Kieran believes he knows why it’s so popular – Russo brothers, I hope you’re reading:
I think the film is just incredible, everything I wanted and so much more – the Russo brothers did an absolutely fantastic job.
I knew they would because two of my favourite Marvel films, (Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Civil War) were directed by the duo, and now Infinity War confirms they’re incredible filmmakers.
They weren’t afraid to take chances, and this is in part thanks to the phenomenal writers, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who’ve all collaboratively crafted a legendary film, one that will go down in history as one of the best Marvel films of all time, possibly the best superhero movie of all time as well!
I’m a huge Marvel fan and have got all the films, posters, merchandise, shirts etc you name it, so I was so hyped for the movie.
It’s got everything; solid action, intense story, hilarious laugh out loud moments, it’ll make you cry, grip your seat tighter, it’s just got it all and not many films can say that!
It’ll make you fear the next film, but at the same time make you want to know what’s happened! It’s truly amazing I can’t praise it enough. It’s changed my life in true honesty and I just can’t stop thinking about it every minute of the day and don’t intend to stop, it’s perfect.
When UNILAD asked Kieran what his family and friends though of his extravagant cinema-going, he told us:
My friends all say I’m crazy and I’m pretty sure my parents think that as well – they just haven’t explicitly stated it!
But other people just say if it makes you happy then they don’t see what’s so bad about it! But…the majority say I’m crazy.
As long as you’re happy Kieran, keep doing what you want!
Hopefully, Kieran will be picked out by the Russo brothers to attend the premiere of Avengers 4 after they invited another superfan, who’d seen it 44 times!
I’m rooting for you Kieran!
