That’s the gift that Taylor McCauley, 27, gave his dad as a surprise, and his reaction was priceless.
In excitement, his dad stumbled to his feet, flipped a table over, and went in for the biggest hug.

Speaking to UNILAD, Taylor’s brother Robee who filmed it, said:
My brother came home the military and drove home 17 hours to surprise my dad for Father’s Day. My brother (the one in the video getting hugged) had made It seem like he was still in North Carolina.
So as he was reading the card that my brother wrote him. Like we planned I texted my brother ‘now’ to come to the screen door. That was my cue to start filming
The atmosphere was amazing. So much joy and excitement filled the room. My brother had been away for seven years, but would visit a couple times in between all those years. He had been overseas with the Marines as a rifleman.
UNILADSpeaking to UNILAD, Taylor said:
I wasn’t sure how it was going to go. I drove 17 hours to get back home so my head was all over the place. I was in contact with my parents before I got to the house and made it seem like I was still in North Carolina because I really wanted them to be surprised, but also to keep tabs on them so the plan would go well.
It was fathers day, so I knew it would be intense and on the way back I got a pretty heartfelt message from my dad. When I read it, I thought ‘oh man’, that’s why in the video he called me a son of a bitch.
I gave Robee a card to give to him, so the one he’s reading in the video is from me but he didn’t get the chance to read it on camera because I walked up to the door too quickly.
UNILADRobee posted the video to Twitter and it received over 2.9k likes and 917 retweets, with many commenters saying they cried when they saw his dad’s emotional reaction.
One commenter wrote:
I know this feeling from seeing my brother come back and there are seriously zero words to explain the feeling.
Other commenters pointed out that the dog seemed to be the most excited of all.
